Conscious vs Subconscious Mind

As you can see in the iceberg graphic to the left, we have two levels of mind.  The majority of people try to solve their problems at a conscious level.  That’s where all our goals are and people have a tendency to try to think their way out of situations at this level.  The conscious level only comprises at the most 10% of our thoughts.

Einstein said the following many years ago:

“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of mind that created them.”    Albert Einstein

The subconscious mind is a storehouse for all our past experiences, values, beliefs, and habits that we learned as we were socialized by others in the first 7 years of life.  This level comprises 90% of our thinking and the vast majority is out of our awareness.  The problem is a lot of the overall conclusions about ourselves coming out of childhood are negative.  We try to make positive changes at a conscious level and may actually have the bigger, more powerful subconscious mind sabotaging those changes because the conclusion below the surface is negative.

So how do we get below the surface to change the subconscious thinking to support what we are trying to do consciously?  We first need to explain the two hemispheres of the brain: https://www.subconsciousblueprint.com/left-vs-right-brain/
